With the exception of the annual Jane Austen Festival, Shocking Bad Hats are usually sold exclusively by commission. I love working with my customers to create exactly the hat you envision, whether its a reproduction of a museum piece, a favorite hat from a period film or television show, or one-a-kind original.
Every commission is a little different, but as a general rule, if you are a first time customer, once we have decided on all the details of style, color, trims, etc., I will ask for a minimum, non-refundable materials deposit of $75.00, with the remaining balance due when the hat is ready to ship. I will need your contact information and a shipping address. I usually keep in touch with you throughout the process, and will let you know when I have begun work, and when you might expect the hat to be ready. Historically, my turn around time is pretty quick—-but depending on the length of the queue, the time frame may vary. If you need a special hat in time for a particular event, please don’t hesitate to ask if It is possible to meet a tight deadline—-I will always do my best to accommodate!
